Pippa and Bruce's Winter Wedding

Pippa and Bruce's stunning winter wedding at Le Manoir Aux Saisons was our last wedding of 2009. It was a really lovely intimate wedding of the type that I just love to cover.
There was a wonderful covering of snow on the ground which made this winter wedding feel even more special (although I must admit it was a bit chilly at times!).

The US has its problems at the moment, as we do here in the UK, but well done for stumping up $100 million to help Haiti. £6 million from the UK Government is a good start as well.

Talented Photographer Wanted!

Everyone here at CKP Weddings is motivated to providing our clients with the best imagery and the best customer service within the industry. We all love what we do and I hope that anyone looking at our images can see the amount of effort we put into every single wedding. (If you were to see either Andy or myself at the end of a wedding we do look pretty tired.)
It was with absolute delight that we were named as one of the Top Ten UK Wedding Photographers in 2009 (we were number one but who is counting). "Just Married", the Italian luxury wedding magazine named us as one of the "Best in the World" and to top the year off we were named one of the Top Ten UK Winter Wedding Photographers in the UK's "Professional Photographer Magazine".
However this is no time for us to relax. We have some great plans for CKP in 2010 and we are currently looking for a talented photographer to join the team.
We are ideally looking for a photographer with a background in documentary photography and/or photojournalism. However, we are not adverse to looking at photographers that do not have this background and we would welcome photographers coming from other genres that have an interest in documentary photography.
The position, initially, is on a freelance basis as an assistant/second photographer, progressing to a full time member of the team as a principle photographer.
Please note that our offices are based in Jersey, Channel Islands but the ideal photographer will be based within the UK.
If you are interested please send your portfolio and CV to christian(at)ckpweddings.com by close of business on Friday 22 January. We have already had over 150 applicants so please be patient with us if we don't respond immediately.
I look forward to hearing from you!
p.s we have received a few applications from photographers who are just wanting to assist with some weddings with a view to gaining experience. We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard to become an excellent second photographer and will be available to assist with weddings when required with a view to a long term future with the team.

Happy New Year everyone!
We have got lots of things going on this year for CKP Weddings and I will blog about those in the coming days and weeks.
In the mean time it was wonderful to hear that we had four winning images in the third quarter WPJA
competition. It is a great start to the year for us.
We are just finishing work on our last wedding of 2009 - Pippa and Bruce's wonderful wedding in Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons in Oxford - we will post some images shortly.
Here are our winning images from WPJA!

Happy 2010 everyone! I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. I had a really lovely time with the family - we travelled back to the Island on Christmas Eve from our last wedding of 2009 so we were definitely cutting it fine.
This time last year I can remember wondering what 2009 would bring. Well we had a great year! Both Andy and I had the pleasure of meeting some great people at some fantastic wedding locations around the UK and beyond. We also have got some wonderful bookings for 2010 and beyond!
We found that we were really getting too busy in the office to cope so Jody, our wonderful new studio manager, joined us in September. Andy got married in October so it was great for him to be able to experience life on the other side of the camera. Carol as always continues to work very hard - answering emails and dealing with our enquiries.
In 2010 we have some great plans for CKP Weddings and will be working hard on these in the coming months. We will also continue to work very hard to provide our wonderful clients with amazing imagery of their wedding day!
I would like to thank all of our clients from 2009 for choosing us to document their wedding day and to everyone that takes time to read and comment on our blog. We really appreciate it!
